KITCHEN CREEK GOLF CLUB TITLE: GREENSKEEPER REPORTS TO: HIRING COMMITTEE OF THE BOARD OF THE DIRECTORS SUPERVISES: Part time, seasonal and maintenance workers ADOPTED/REVISED DATE: 12/01/2009 SALARY: BASED ON EXPERIENCE
POSITION PURPOSE/SUMMARY This position assists Greens Supervisor in implementing long term maintenance programs and insures day to day maintenance of the golf course in quality condition.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Mows and fertilizes tees, greens, fairways, etc. • Top dresses greens and tees • Changes tee markers, cuts cups and performs other daily maintenance requirements • Trains and supervises golf course personnel in maintenance procedures • Works with a variety of power and hand tools, tractors and riding mowers • Performs minor equipment maintenance, repairs small engines • Maintains/repairs irrigation clocks and irrigation systems • Waters golf course • Sharpens mowing equipment • Promotes positive public relations when appropriate • Performs other related work as needed and as directed by direct supervisor(s)
WORKING CONDITIONS Work is performed in an outside environment and involves lifting, exposures to chemicals and pesticides and various machinery and equipment.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, SKILLS FOR SUCCESS • Knowledge of methods, tools and practices required to construct and maintain greens, fairways, trees and shrubs, sandtraps and other aspects of a golf course • Ability to operate and maintain all necessary equipment • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the public
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED Graduation from an accredited high school or General Education Development (GED) with work experience and knowledge of all aspects of golf course development and maintenance IPM Certified Applicator or ability to achieve within specified time period Pesticide Applicators Operations License CPR and First Aid Certificates Valid Ontario Drivers License with driving record free from serious or frequent violation IPM Certified Applicator or ability to achieve within specified time period
